Event Overview

The Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair (KYO-MAF) is the largest comprehensive trade fair for manga, anime, and games in Western Japan, held annually with Kyoto's Miyako Messe as its main venue.

Marking its 14th edition this year, the event took place over two days on September 20–21, 2025, welcoming 36,143 visitors, including both fans and industry professionals from Japan and abroad.

Our company exhibited under the banner of Tokyo Otaku Mode powered by MAG.NET, showcasing exclusive merchandise co-created with domestic publishers, as well as limited-edition items released in advance at the event. Additionally, we introduced initiatives linking event sales with Japan’s Furusato Nozei (hometown tax donation program), while developing a display concept geared toward future global expansion—creating opportunities to connect with distribution partners both in Japan and overseas.

About KYO-MAF (Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair)

  • Total Attendance: 36,143
  • Duration: 2 days

Our Initiatives

1. Procurement, Planning, and Sales of High-Value Merchandise

At our booth, we primarily featured licensed merchandise from rights holders and licensees, including event-exclusive and pre-release items. For select products, we collaborated with manufacturers to design and produce original items that captured the distinctive worlds of each work. We also introduced products incorporating Kyoto’s traditional craft techniques, delivering a lineup uniquely characteristic of KYO-MAF.

2. Booth Design and Operations

Our booth featured a Global Retail Showcase, highlighting products from globally popular titles entrusted to us by rights holders and licensees. To reflect our international focus, we incorporated bilingual (Japanese–English) price cards and point-of-purchase displays, creating a presentation designed with future overseas expansion in mind.

3. Promotional Initiatives

We leveraged our official social media channels and press releases to share product information ahead of the event. During the event itself, we provided real-time updates on sold-out items, boosting visitor purchase motivation while maximizing both the buzz around our booth and overall attendee engagement.

Exhibition Outcomes

1.Maximizing Sales

By offering limited edition and pre-release merchandise from popular IPs, our booth attracted approximately 2,000 visitors over the two-day period, achieving strong traffic and sales.

2.Enhancing Brand Awareness and Value

We engaged directly with core fans and industry professionals from both Japan and overseas. Combined with official social media and press announcements, these efforts have amplified the buzz around our products and titles.

3.Expanding Distribution Networks

We established new connections with buyers, distributors, and event organizers in both domestic and international markets.

4.Developing Mid- to Long-Term Sales Channels

Through initiatives such as incorporating our products into Japan’s Furusato Nozei (hometown tax donation program) and strengthening collaborations with overseas partners, we are pursuing new market opportunities and working to expand our distribution channels on an ongoing basis, even beyond the event itself.
